GREAT FUN WHILE IT LASTS September 2, 2010 jody (springfield, Macau) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
HAD LOTS OF FUN WITH IT TILL TAIL PROP CAME OFF, NOBODY TOLD ME THAT THE NEAREST PLACE TO ORDER PARTS FROM IS AUSTRALIA! SHIPPING COSTS 3 TIMES MORE THAN THE PARTS NEEDED! CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW COPTER! UGH!
Big dissapointed September 1, 2010 shopping mom I bought this toy as a gift for my nephew out of the country after reading the good reviews about it. Well, my nephew said the helicopter took off to the air and then fell down. He decided to display it in the cupboard since there is no other use for it. I learned the lesson of testing toys before sending away as gifts next time.
VERY fun for a week... August 23, 2010 Optimized Really enjoyed this heli while it worked, and in fact it became a 'go-to' toy for my daughter and I to play with. Great fun and super simple to operate. Unfortunately, after about a week of moderate (maybe twice-a-day) use, something went wrong in the gearing and the rotors no longer spin fast enough to keep it in the air. Everything else seems fine, but the hitching in the rotor gear causes it to lose altitude right off the bat. Can't get parts for it (and likely isn't worth the effort to fix) so it looks like it's trash now. Too bad. This was a really fun toy for a while.
Need to buy 2 and extra parts August 17, 2010 MickeyFlyer I bought a second helicopter in good faith because the first one was defective. The second helicopter was not any better than the first. I took both helicopters apart and found that the tiny drive gears were made of a soft plastic that wears down in a day or two, rendering the helicopters useless. The replacement helicopter also had a battery that won't keep a charge. Now I must find and purchase additional parts from another source.... [...]
Excellent High Quality Mini-Heli. Best for the money. July 9, 2010 J. Jones (Chicago, Il) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have now flown a huge selection of these mini-helicopters and dollar for dollar, this one outshines them all. My favorite to date has been the micro-mosquito which in my opinion is the most well made and the most stable of all of them. At an $80 price tag though, it is a bit of an investment for those of us who just want to have a little fun. The mosquito also does not move back and forward very well. I'm happy to say that the Falcon X has excellent up/down, forward/backward, and rotational control. It is nimble and responsive. The frame is also metal which means it is much stronger than its plastic competitors. The Falcon x also has surprisingly cool LED's that make it possible to fly in the dark (not that this should be a major factor in buying a machine that flys well, but I have to admit it IS very cool). The best part though, is that at a $28 price tag, it is a no-brainer.
For those people that gave this a mediocre review because it didn't perform like a real RC helicopter...it is time to join the real world. The fact that we can buy this kind of technology for $28 is astonishing. Get it, have fun with it, and if you want to get into serious RC heli-flying...then by a real RC heli.
