My son saw this advertised on TV and it was the only thing he asked for for his birthday. He was disappointed in the size, even though I had warned him it was small. The truck moves well and does climb over the edges of carpets and such. I played with it when it first arrived and to me it did everything it said it would. I can't speak to battery life or the quality of the toy, because my son never plays with it. He is 10, but I hesitate to let his 5 year old brother play with it because it doesn't feel like it would take very much rough handling, and the connection to the charger/remote is rather small and hard to line up (for a young child). I would say if your child wants this, really stress that it is very small and can only climb over small things. Otherwise, you might end up with a disappointed kid.
