not a bad chopper December 28, 2008 aaron (california) this helicopter is fun to fly around. if your itching to fly a something without having to go outside or buy something expensive, then i think your right for this copter. if your serious about flying helicopters, or you want something top quality, then this is not for you. one thing i dont like about it is that theres no forward thrust on the controller. you can move the tail fin to shift its weight but you cant control its forward motion. it isnt too durable, what what can you expect from something like this? it is durable enough to crash into the wall and be unharmed. i think this is overall not a waste of money, but be careful with it.
Fun, but not durable at all December 21, 2008 Adam (Franciscan University, Steubenville, OH USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, I am a novice to radio controlled fliers, but this toy is made of the thinnest plastic, one soft landing on carpet bent the legs out of shape so it would not stand up on its own. Another soft land on our hardwood kitchen floor and the leg broke. I took it to our school gym and no matter what I did I could not get it to fly forward after using it for about an hour (charges last about 10 minutes). Will return it to the store.
fun while it lasts December 12, 2008 tennis player (Bethesda, MD) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this last Christmas. It was really easy to set-up and we were flying in no time. This was the most popular toy with my 7 and 11 year old daughters, and while they couldn't quite control it well enough to land gently on the kitchen counter, they could fly and keep it within the kitchen area. It's somewhat sturdy and can withstand crashes. However, more severe crashes can imbalance the blades which makes the copter difficult to fly straight. It may be better to fly this over a carpeted area so impacts are more gentle and less likely to break or displace something. The kids eventually got distracted with other toys and after coming back to this a few months later, we found the copter can no longer achieve lift-off speed despite charging it fully. Bummer! These helicopters are a LOT of fun. I feel it was worth this small investment to see how well the kids like this kind of thing. I'm now looking for something slightly more durable and powerful.
