Fine while it lasted November 7, 2008 Andrew V. Anderson (San Diego, CA USA) This was fun while it lasted. Recieved as a gift, however it's flimsy construction didn't last. One bad landing and it broke.
Micro Mosquito RC Helo Review! October 6, 2008 Hobie Trivitte (San Diego, CA) This was the single most 'bitchen' toy ever. I flew it all over my house, up the stairs, across the landing, and then across my living room to land on the dining room table. I had so much fun I couldn't believe how great it was... Then I bought one for my nephew that didn't work. Then I bought another one for myself, and one for a friend: neither worked! ... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. You will not get one that functions properly. They are now on Version 3. This helo should go up, down, left, right, forward, and backward. Is a little quality assurance too much to ask?
stay away from this model, very bad quality June 3, 2008 tuanmtl (San Jose, CA) I got this model from Fry's Electronic for $20 bucks (they had it on sale a while ago). Any way, the first one was broken within 2 days. One of the motors was dead. I think it's because the motor is too small and weak to spin the rotor for 5 to 10 minutes. I went back and exchanged for a second one. However, the second one had issue with charging unit not connecting to the helicopter properly and so I couldn't charge it. I exchanged again for a 3rd one. Again, the same motor went dead within 2 days. Finally, I went back to Frys and got my money back. I didn't care much about the 20 bucks but it was nice that Frys was willing to take it back, no question asked! br / br /Bottom line, don't waste time and money on this one. If you must, get it from Frys. At least, you can exchange for a few times 8)
Not very good! April 27, 2008 D. Allen (Dallas, TX) I saw this thing fly in a TV commercial and then took the bait. I could not get this thing to fly like the video showed. I'm betting they edited out all the times it crashed and broke and had to be repaired. The add for these things is just too good to be true. Buyer beware!!!
Skip Pilot Training! March 9, 2008 Alon Oscar Deutsch (Tampa, Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a swell helicopter...it is very stable due to its twin rotors and it flies for nearly the time it takes to charge if you don't overcharge it. It will rise in the air at least 3 stories and move forward, backward, left, right, down, or just hover (just don't let it descend too quickly if you prefer not to snap off the propeller). In response to some hasty reviews of this product: remember that you must learn to control it well to make it fly to predestined locations - make sure that you set the rudder trim so that it hovers in one position and doesn't spin in the air. Also, since the helicopter is quite sensitive to directional changes, you may have to search for an off-center "sweet-spot" on the control pad to make it consistently move forward or backwards without turning (this requires some patience). Don't be disappointed right away - after a single day of practice, I was able to launch it from the floor of one room and land it over fifty feet away on top of a very tall bookshelf down the hall. I would keep it indoors because it is very susceptible to wind changes, ceiling fans, and even air conditioning. However, despite these drawbacks, I feel that it is still certainly a very worthy purchase.
