5 out of 5 stars Great beginner airplane!   May 4, 2008

This a great beginner airplane, easy to fly and VERY durable. My 5-year old can fly it and my 3-year old can even do it with help from Daddy. It is super durable, it's gone into several trees, crashed into the ground, into the tree house and hit a fence and it is still going strong! This is a great plane that my kids and husband have really enjoyed. A word of caution though, windy days can really be a challenge! Happy flying!

5 out of 5 stars fun for a 6 year old and fairly durable   February 6, 2008

Over one month, many flights... My 6yo loves it. Not good in wind. Very simple controls, so no stunt flying. But easy and simple enough for a 6yo and fun to fly. Will break if not handled with care. But hasn't broken from dive bomb into street or into trees.

4 out of 5 stars Better than thought!!!   January 21, 2008

Regarding similar type of toys, I thought this is going to be a one flight and that's it. Well it is better than i thought, my nephew (10 years old) has landed this plane on trees, neighbors' yards, roofs and even in the swimming pool and yet it is still working. Beside this he started to have fun from the first day he received it which reflects the easy to use of it. Overall it is a good gift for kids an even adults. Have fun

4 out of 5 stars 4 stars.... Very durable and a lot of fun   August 21, 2007

This is my first RC plane so I cannot compare this to any other models but I must say that this plane has been a lot of fun for all ages. Even my 2 and half year old son is able to fly this (albeit only straight). It has seen quite a few crashes and so far no damage at all (although most of the crashes have been on the grass). I got this for about 30 bucks at Toys R Us and it has been well worth the money. br / br /*** Positive include: *** br / br /- durable foam body br /- easy to control once you learn how to give the control quick bursts and not hold the control to make it turn. br /- decent speed... not too slow so it won't bore the adults yet not too fast where the kids lose control. br /- able to glide back down for a landing br /- good range, it easily covers a large school playground or park... I actually had to tape the plane antenna to the body and retract the remote antenna so my son did not fly it too far and lose it! br /- instructions say the flight time is 6-7 minutes although I get about 10-15 minutes br / br /*** Negative points include: *** br / br /- internal lithium battery in the plane is not user-replaceable br / br /- it takes about 45 minutes to charge the plane (using 6 AA alkaline batteries in the remote) br / br /- manual specifically states to use alkaline batteries (no rechargeables). It will work just fine using the rechargeables but apparently rechargeables only have 1.2v whereas alkalines have 1.5v so it will adversely affect the internal lithium battery over time. br / br /- plane cannot take off on its own so you have to throw it for flight (the more expensive model can take off from a standstill) br / br /- no wheels so it probably is not wise to land this on concrete repeatedly (although my son did do this a couple of times and there was no damage). br / br /- instructions are a bit sparse... but they are simple and to the point. br / br /Overall this was a very good buy. It is great for beginners and kids and not so expensive where you will cry if it gets lost or damaged. br / br /
