Product Description The Blade CX2 takes the excitement and beginner-friendly flight stability of the original Blade CX and adds Spectrum 2.4GHz DSM radio control that lets you fly anywhere, anytime without ever having to worry about interference. Its the first ready-to-fly RC aircraft of any kind to come with this extraordinary technology built in. In addition, the 4-in-1 control unit has been updated with improved gyro and tail control that gives the Blade CX2 even better tail response while minimizing drift. Two feather-light S60 Super Sub-Micro Servos provide powerful, precise cyclic control. Topping it all off is an aggressive new body design that looks fantastic in flight and is unlike anything else out there.

Fairly cool October 6, 2008 Daniel Wesnor This is a fairly cool little toy to play with, much easier to control than the cheaper ones. I got the the point I could just throw it about at will. The replacement blades are 4 for a dollar, so you don't worry much about breaking them. Mostly I just had to replace broken blades, one main gear, and the landing gear. Over all, I'd say it's fun to play with and fairly rugged. br / br /The down-side is that you won't learn anything about flying a single-rotor RC helicopter from these. The flight behavior is completely different. Coaxes are inherently stable, and they don't bank to move, and most importantly, they stop moving when you let go of the stick. A single rotor will flip over and crash in a heartbeat, something that's impossible with a coax. br / br /Also, this manufacturer has replaced this one with a much cheaper model.
weak chopper September 18, 2008 James Wang 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The landing skids are so weak and break easily. The tips of the upper and lower main blades need to be strengthened for redesign.
Great indoor chopper August 16, 2008 Beach lover 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The blade cx2 is a great helicopter for beginners. It is easy to learn how to fly and is very responsive to control inputs while still maintaining stability. I also bought the sh-60 seahawk body which looks realistic and doesn't affect performance. I would also buy extra blades because you are bound to break them sometime. This is a great chopper.
I like the CX2 too! August 11, 2008 Gary Shoaf (Concord, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Besides the E-Flite Blade CX2, I have several similar coaxial type helis of various makes and price ranges, up to $300. The CX2 stacks up quite well in comparison and probably the easiest to fly. Properly trimmed, it can hover hands-off for about 8 seconds or longer. It can be flown outdoors as well, but in VERY calm wind. The overall quality, fit and finish is among the best, with better than average electronics. Good instruction manual. Parts are inexpensive, available at most hobby shops. Ok, there is a downside. The rotor blades are non folding, which means if the blades strike an object, the blades don't pivot back to soften the blow. Its much more likely to break a blade, blade grips or even the rotor head. I let the top blade strike my dogs bed (hard) and broke a blade and cracked the top rotor head. (I replaced the rotor head/shaft and blades with E-Sky parts.) Now at least the top blades fold and maybe flys better. The CX2 is a bit pricier than some other makes but probably worth the difference. You won't be dissapointed with the CX2! br /Pros: Great looks, Great performance; Very stable; Up-grade parts available. br /Cons: Non folding blades; Price, (around $189 at hobby shops.) br /Recommended parts/accessories: Extra battery, blades. Up-grade to metal head parts. br /Given the minor design flaw, I rate this one a 4 overall. br / br /
easy to fly easier to fix August 6, 2008 Jackson (maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this twice since getting it. br / br /The first day i flew near a creek. After repeated crashes i started to get the feel for the heli. It started to drift towards the creek, at about 30-40 feet in the air, not wanting to lose my beloved toy, i let go of the throttle and saw my birthday present plummet towards the earth. It slammed into the ground, and all that broke was... no not a blade, not the battery, just the skid. For 2.99 i got a replacement a local store and was flying in 5 minutes. The battery also charges faster than i could have imagined. br / br /For those first time fliers, i recommend the training gear. It allows you to land safely on any open surface, with next to no experience!
