Product Description Nirvana is a ready-to-sail radio controlled competition sailboat that has been designed from the keel up to handle to look just like a full-scale racing yacht - not a toy like other radio controlled sail boats. This yacht's unique features include a low-drag composite hull design measuring 32 inches long. It also features a removable racing keel with ballast-bulb and a large area deep-water rudder that, working together, will keep the Nirvana on precisely controlled headings at all times. All rigging is mounted up to a super-ridged carbon fiber main mast and fully proportional sail winch that allow the sails to be trimmed for absolutely any combination of wind conditions. From "stays" to "clew fasteners", Nirvana is regatta-ready just minutes after you open the box. Even the two-channel radio is pre-mounted and pre-centered in its watertight compartment. All rigging is pre-mounted and marked for easy assembly. Sails up to 20 knots of wind. Two-channel radio system and radio compartments are double-sealed. Requires 8 "AA" batteries (not included).

| Customer Reviews: AWESOME- GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO November 3, 2009 balconio (Rochester, NY) I am not an RC enthusiast and I've never owned an RC sailboat before. I am more of a sailing enthusiast, and this boat is ABSOLUTELY a real sailboat. It reacts to inputs as a real boat would and the same rules of sailing a full-sized Bermuda rigged sloop apply to this little yacht. It is fast and can go waaay faster than hull speed. It beats incredibly well to windward and on a run it can really surf with the sails wing-on-wing. It is so much fun that it's easy to spend a couple hours at the pond.
Almost all of the parts are replaceable and Megatech's service is incredible. I had an issue with my transmitter ($70 part) and their support responded to my email in ONE day... Phenomenal!! They agreed to send me a new part free of charge with no questions asked- this was not at all expected.
I would recommend you buy this NOW. I got the last Nirvana II at my local hobby shop, and they are pretty much sold out everywhere. Supposedly there is going to be a Nirvana III, but I can't see how it could possibly be better than this one. It is very nicely finished and I get comments EVERY time I'm out sailing about how nice it looks. I had a professional nature photographer tell me that he couldn't tell it was a model in a couple of his shots- it really is that true to form.
It's really not a Toy! - for kids June 24, 2008 George Hawkins (Asheville, NC) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Boat is well constructed and was packaged very well. The instructions were OK and the minor assembly required was easy. She sails great! The RC package is pretty much a piece of junk and has been replaced with a better quality package. Would be a much better product if it was made available with several different RC package options and as a boat only - no RC.
Not too shabby. November 5, 2007 Thomas Gearrhart 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this boat, in yellow, and it arrived well-packed, and fairly simple to assemble. However, there were a couple of issues: one, I paid extra for it to be shipped in 3 days, and it arrived in seven. Secondly, assembly went well, with the exception that the boom was mounted upsidedown, and I had to remove a pin and flip it (not as simple as it sounds - 20 minutes). My last complaint is that during my maiden voyage, I had radio interfernece with the only other boat on the pond who wasn't even close to my frequency or channel.
But once the captain of that boat turned his radio off and offered me a few pointers, my son and I were sailing immediately. Having zero experience sailing model boats, I was very satisfied with the boats performance and ease of use, and anxiously look forward to the nex time out. Tons of fun. I wish I knew why there was interference. A few people suggested that the radio may not have good channel blocking like more expensive ones ... I don't know. But it's not going to deter me.
For the price (by $100s), you cannot beat this boat.
Easy to Sail September 21, 2007 Joseph Blanton 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is an excellent product. Someone with decent knowledge of sailing can zip all over the place on a large pond or small lake. Very responsive and easy to use. Easy to put together. My 13 year old son who is a beginning sailor was able to operate this sailboat. Durable and very attractive. Strongly recommend.
Nirvana II is great for a first RC sailboat! April 14, 2007 J. Rockafellow (DOBBS FERRY, NY United States) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I bought a Megatech NIRVANA II around mid-March 2007, and assembled it right away. It took me longer than the advertising says to assemble it, but I wanted to be careful about the assembly, and was unfamiliar with RC products in general, and RC sailboat assembly in particular. It took me about 1 to 1-1/2 hours, but all went well. However, I couldn't sail it until today, since we have had a cold spell in the northeast for some weeks now. Today I took it out for the first time, along with some screwdrivers and pliers and a Swiss Army knife. But I needed nothing: I simply carried the boat in my back seat with the keel removed, then, after arriving at a nearby 200 x 600 yard pond, I inserted the keel, removed the two hatches, turned on the transmitter, then the servos, replaced the hatches, put the boat in the water, pushed off, and I was sailing! I didn't need the tools and the boat sailed well. I was really surprised, thinking previously that one really needed a 36" boat or a 1 meter boat to get realistic sailing. But no, the NIRVANA II sailed well, upwind and downwind. There were gusts that knocked her almost on her beam ends several times, but all told, she only took on a few drops of water in the controller section, but nothing that affected the controls. Plus, I am not out a lot of money if I find that I get bored with RC sailing. As one who has sailed at the helm of real sailboats over the years, from Sabots to 26-footers, and crewed on sloops and schooners up to 50', I give the boat high marks. -- Jack
