Goes forward well, steers pretty well going forward, but won't steer backwards. When you use the arrow buttons to turn it also causes forward motion. Not sure if this is a glitch with my car or supposed to be this way, will email company to find out. Other than that it's very nice, but buy some rechargeable batteries. Batteries are easy to swap with just one screw, a definite plus.

This is one of those toys that if you don't turn off the switch on the car, the batteries wear out. No auto shut off??
Other than that, it's a great toy, good remote for a two year old.
